Due to an EPA stop sale order, Black Berkey Filter Elements are currently unavailable. As a result, all systems which include Black Berkey Filter Elements (Travel Berkey, Big Berkey, etc.) are unavailable as well. Products without Black Berkey Filter Elements (such as Fluoride Filters, shower filters and accessories) remain available on our website.
We understand the importance of access to reliable, filtered water and the peace of mind that your Berkey products provide. NMCL FILES FOR A TEMPORARY INJUNCTION AGAINST THE EPA
On August 9, 2023, New Millennium Concepts Ltd. (NMCL), the manufacturer of Berkey products, filed for a temporary injunction against the EPA. This injunction, if successful, would once again allow the sales of Black Berkey Filter Elements to continue.

In late December of 2022, BerkeyFilters.com was issued a Stop Sale Order due to the pesticidal claims that Berkey products made at that time. With some exceptions, the EPA regulates products that claim to control living organisms such as bacteria.
Since early 2023, we have been working with the EPA and NMCL to address the EPA concerns and once again make the Black Berkey Filter Elements available. To date, those efforts have not yet been successful.

So, why can other website still sell Berkey products?
The EPA issued Stop Sale Orders to a number of Berkey dealers. We don’t know why certain dealers were affected and others were not.
