What should I not use Berkey water for?

There are a few things that we do not recommend using Berkey water for, mainly because Berkey filters do not remove minerals. For machines (example: CPAP machines) that use water, the minerals can build up and then cause damage. If something specifically calls for distilled water, it's best to double-check before using Berkey water.

For just about all other instances, Berkey water is preferred. Minerals are beneficial and essential for human functions, an efficient way of receiving mineral nutrients is through drinking water.

Can you use Berkey water in a CPAP machine?

No, we do not recommend using Berkey water for CPAP machines because Berkeys do not remove minerals. CPAP machines will get damaged.  Most CPAP machines require distilled water, as it does not contain minerals. As always, it is best to consult your doctor for any health related questions.

Can you use Berkey water for baby formula?

Yes! Filtered water is great for babies. We think it's a much better option than using tap or bottled water. Rest easy knowing that the water your providing to your infant is rid of harsh chemicals, microplastics, pharmaceutical residue and pesticide run-off.

But remember, fed is best! No matter the method!

Can you use Berkey water in a tea kettle?

Yes! We whole-heartedly believe that better water equals better tea and coffee. We can noticeably tell an improvement difference in teas and coffees made with Berkey water. You may notice a white residue on your kettle, that's just mineral build up, perfectly drinkable.

No, we don't recommend it. Due to the presence of minerals in Berkey water can build up and then clog the humidifier.
